Whit's Bio

Whit began Square Dancing in 1973 and started calling professionally in 1977. Since 1980, Whit has been a full time caller. He is a member of Callerlab and the Florida Callers Association of which he was President in 1993. Whit is also a member of the Central Florida Callers Association and has held several offices in that organization. He has been on the staff of many Florida State Conventions, National Conventions and special Square Dance events, calling through the A-2 level. Whit calls four to six nights a week being the club caller for five clubs. He also appears as a guest caller numerous times during the year. He has taught one or more beginner classes every year.

Whit and his lovely wife Dee met when she was a student in a class he was teaching. They were married in May of 2003 at a square dance wedding attended by 350 dancers, family and friends. Whit has one daughter, Lauren who is 20 years old. Dee has two sons, Terry 33, and Chad 28 and three grandchildren.
